Why this project exists
People often meet a platform through an advert, a social post, a message or a recommendation before they ever see the legal name behind it. The visible brand, the website domain and the company that claims to operate the service can be three different things. Cronaca Faro is designed around that practical problem.
The project does not try to replace the reader’s judgement with a coloured score. Instead, it shows a repeatable route: write down the exact name, record the domain, check the regulator, check the company record, compare dates and contact details, and keep a note of anything that does not line up.
What “OSINT” means here
OSINT means open-source intelligence: research based on information that is lawfully accessible to the public. In this project that normally means regulator registers, statutory company records, public warning notices, official consumer guidance, legal pages, archived or public web material and other traceable sources.
Open-source research has limits. A public record can be incomplete, delayed or scoped to a particular legal question. We therefore describe the source, its date and its purpose rather than turning every search result into a verdict.
Non-commercial and educational by design
Cronaca Faro does not charge readers for access to the research guides or for a consultation submitted through this website. There are no paid rankings and no arrangement under which a financial provider can buy a positive conclusion.
The site also does not accept deposits, execute trades, open brokerage accounts, provide portfolio management or offer personalised investment recommendations. If a reader needs regulated financial advice or legal advice, this project is not a substitute for the relevant qualified professional.
Why the Ireland edition uses Irish primary sources
For a service that claims to operate in Ireland, different sources answer different questions. The Central Bank of Ireland can be relevant to authorisation and published warnings. The Companies Registration Office can help identify an Irish company or business name. CCPC, An Garda Síochána and Citizens Information publish consumer-facing guidance.
We link to those sources directly so a reader can repeat the check independently instead of relying on a screenshot or a statement copied into this site.
What the project will not claim
We avoid words such as “safe”, “approved”, “official”, “licensed” or “scam” unless a specific primary source supports that exact proposition and the context makes the wording appropriate. A similar company name is not treated as proof of ownership of a website. A live website is not treated as proof that the operator named on it is genuine.
Where evidence is incomplete, the correct result is uncertainty. That may be less dramatic than a score, but it is more useful for a careful decision.

The current build identifies Stephan Everding as the website operator for Cronaca Faro. The public contact region is Dublin, Ireland. A street address is not published because this build should not imply a public office that has not been documented.
